SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

During the month of November 2017, Jennifer Lea Gilbert was employed at a local business.

During Gilbert’s employment at the business, she accessed customers’ personally identifying information and applied for loans in their names without their permission.

The business became aware of the fraudulent loans and contacted the Decatur Police Department. Officer Darby responded and filed an initial report.

Detective Ferguson was assigned the case and began an investigation. During the course of the investigation, Gilbert was developed as the primary suspect in the case.

On January 18, 2018, Detective Ferguson obtained warrants for Gilbert’s arrest.

Gilbert turned herself in for the active warrants on January 19, 2018. Detective Ferguson met with Gilbert at the Decatur Police Department.

Gilbert was subsequently transported to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $50,000.00 total bond.

“Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
