Do you recognize this person?

This individual is wanted for questioning in Hoover on two felony charges: Burglary and Unlawful breaking and entering motor vehicle. On 12/10/2017 a vehicle was broken into at a residence in the 5200 block of Greystone Way. One of the stolen items was the victim’s wallet which contained several credit cards. Later that day, the pictured suspect used the stolen cards to purchase several thousand dollars’ worth of merchandise at area businesses (Game Stop, Walmart, Sally’s Beauty Supply and China Buffet) in Irondale and Birmingham.

The white male suspect was wearing a unique “Minion” skull cap/hat. Vehicle information is unknown. We understand the quality of the photos is not ideal. That being said, someone out there knows who this person is, and the hat might give him away.

If you recognize this individual, or know anything about him or this case, contact Hoover Detective Ed Leach at (205) 739-6071. If immediate assistance is needed, please call Hoover 911 or the non-emergency number (205) 822-5300. You can also leave an anonymous tip via our website: http://www.hooverpd.com/submit-a-tip.php

You can also call Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777 or leave a tip on their website: http://crimestoppersmetroal.com/ You will remain anonymous and eligible for a cash reward if your tip to Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest. PLEASE NOTE that a criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Thanks and please share!

Arrest Made in Vet Clinic Burglary

Sunday evening at 7:27 P.M., Hoover Police officers responded to a possible burglary in progress at Alford Avenue Veterinary Hospital, located at 2107 Marlboro Street. A witness reported hearing an audible burglar alarm and seeing a male running away from the business. Responding officers saw a male on foot behind the business and ordered him to stop. The suspect refused and a foot chase ensued. He was captured in the 2100 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard and transported to the Hoover City Jail without further incident. Items stolen in the burglary included a small amount of cash and Frontline flea and tick medicine. Detectives obtained the following warrant on the suspect Tuesday:

Jonathan Myles Shalhoop 27 years old Hoover, AL

Burglary 3rd degree $2,500.00 Bond

Shalhoop was transferred to the Jefferson County Jail yesterday and was released after posting bond. Additional charges against him are pending. A second suspect believed to be involved in this burglary was also taken into custody Sunday for outstanding warrants with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office; however, he has not been charged in this case.

Anyone that may have information regarding this is encouraged to call Detective James Hester at 205-444-7580. If you wish to remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama at 205-254-7777.
