Our most heartfelt condolences are sent to the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office after the horrific #lineofduty assassination shootings of Sgt Noel Ramirez and Deputy Taylor Lindsey as they were on their lunch break in a restaurant in Trenton, Florida.

Sergeant Noel Ramirez, age 30 and Deputy Sheriff Taylor Lindsey, age 25 were shot and killed from ambush yesterday, April 19th at 3:00 pm when a male subject opened fire on them from just inside of the restaurant they had taken their lunch break at. There was no prior disturbance or incident when the shooting occurred – the deputies were there on-duty for their lunch break. The shooter was located deceased near the scene by responding deputies from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Sergeant Ramirez had served with the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office for seven years. He is survived by his wife and two young children. Deputy Lindsey had been with GCSO for over three years. He is survived by his girlfriend and extended family.

In speaking of his fallen officers, Sheriff Bobby Schultz called the two deputies “the best of the best,” adding, “They’re men of integrity, they’re men of loyalty. They’re God-fearing, and they loved what they did. And we’re very proud of them.”

Rest in Peace to our young brothers dedicated to the public they served.
