Claire has been located. Thank you to everyone who provided information to assist us in locating her.

Claire Tannus left her home on 1/15/18 at around 3pm, and left her cell phone behind. She left in her black, Volkswagen Tiguan SUV, similar to the one pictured. The license number on the vehicle is California 6KDT126.

Claire is a 76 year old Hispanic female, she is approx. 5-0 tall and 150lbs. She was last seen wearing a pink jacket. Due to her age and fact that family has no way of reaching or locating her with no phone, they are very concerned with her well being. In the early morning hours on Friday, officers made contact with subjects in a vehicle in the 900 block of Fitzuren Rd. As the officer first on scene began to drive away, the driver of the vehicle, a 34 year old El Sobrante man, got out of his car and the officer heard something metal hit the ground.

When the officer re-contacted the man, he saw a firearm on the ground which was later determined to be loaded. The man was found to be a convicted felon, on community supervision, and he also had narcotics in his possession. He was later sent to county jail, and we were thankfully able to get another gun off the streets of our community!

Meet your Beat!

Introducing Curt Michael, the manager of The City of Antioch’s Code Enforcement. Curt started with the City of Antioch in January 2017. Prior to coming here, he worked for the City of Concord Police Department and City of Berkeley as well.

Code Enforcement responsibilities include addressing minor crimes on private property that threaten the health, safety, and welfare of residents and businesses within the city. This division also houses the City’s Abatement Team which consists of two full-time laborers dedicated to eradicating blight on public property including illegal dumping, abandoned shopping carts and graffiti.

A highlight of Curt’s career occurred in 2015 when he received the, “Officer of the Year,” award from the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers.

When not working, Curt enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He can usually be found doing projects around the house, unless he’s fishing with his youngest daughter. She recently caught her first striper, and followed it up with 6 more the same morning, putting Curt to shame!
