On Monday, January 8, 2018, at approximately 11:00 am, the Beaumont Police Department received a call reporting an African-American Female was stealing merchandise from a business in the 1600 block of 6th Street. While attempting to confront the suspect the victim was assaulted.

Officers from the Beaumont Police Department searched the surrounding area immediately after the crime was reported. A witness to the crime provided Beaumont Police with a description and license plate for the suspect’s vehicle. During a records check of the license plate, the vehicle returned stolen out of Riverside. Shortly after arrival to the vicinity officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 and a pursuit ensued.

The suspect exited Interstate 10 at Hargrave Street in the City of Banning and continued to evade officers. Eventually losing control of the vehicle at the intersection of Nicolet Street and Fay Street, where the vehicle struck a parked vehicle and came to rest against the curb.

Officers arrested the driver of the vehicle and located evidence associated with the crime. (Arrest Information was not available at the time of this posting).

The Beaumont Police Department held a ceremony yesterday, January 2, 2018, to swear in a new member to the department.

The Beaumont Police Department would like to welcome Officer Rollings to the City of Beaumont. Officer Rollings is a recent graduate from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Academy and started her career with the Upland Police Department, as well as volunteered for the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office.

We are excited to introduce Officer Rollings to the City and hope you will welcome her to Beaumont!
