Former Clovis East High School Teacher Bonds Out After Misdemeanor Charge

On February 27, 2018, Clovis Police received a call from Clovis East High School regarding allegations of sexual misconduct on the behalf of one of their teachers. A police report was taken, and the case was forwarded to the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office. Following the investigation, a warrant was issued for 48 year-old Damon Eric Wright for one count of annoying or molesting a child under the age of 18, California penal code 647.6(a)(1). Wright turned himself into Fresno County Jail for that warrant on April 13, 2018, and bonded out the same day. Throughout the investigation, the Clovis Unified School District was very cooperative.

Clovis Police Investigate Mountain Lion Sighting in Northeast Clovis

Clovis Police are investigating a reported mountain lion sighting in the area of Locan/Enterprise avenues in the City of Clovis. A resident was on a walk in the area last night and reported the sighting to the Clovis Police Department. The animal was not located by officers who responded to the initial report. The Clovis Police Department contacted the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and is working with a local Biologist to investigate this incident.

Residents in the area are asked to be aware of their surroundings and anyone seeing what is believed to be a mountain lion should not approach but call the Clovis Police Department at 559-324-2800 or 911. We will keep you informed as more information becomes available.
