All week we’ve honoring our Public Safety Dispatchers in honor of Dispatcher Appreciation Week. Today we’d like to give special attention to Ashlee D’Apice who was chosen as San Leandro Police Department’s Dispatcher of the Year. Ashlee began her dispatching career in May of 2010. Since the beginning Ashlee has been viewed by her peers as someone they can count on and is willing to go above and beyond. She’s described as a true team player with a focus on Officer Safety. In the past year Ashlee has taken on the role of Communications Training Officer. She is an incredible mentor providing the right balance of assistance and coaching. She’s also part of the Tactical Operations team, and is the Department of Justice California Law Enforcement trainer. She finds time in her busy schedule to participate in many of our community events. Most notable is her role as Santa’s elf at Cookies with the Cops. Please congratulate Ashlee on this well-deserved accolade.
