Beginning in 2017, the Tracy Police Department received numerous reports of fraud from clients of the business “Legal Docs Done”. All of the victims reported they were overcharged. Some victims reported several charges to their credit cards without their permission or reported that checks they didn’t write were negotiated through their accounts.

After a lengthy investigation, Tracy Police Department detectives obtained a warrant and arrested the local business owner, Devon Bolla, for Identity Theft and Grand Theft.

As a result of the investigation, there is reason to believe there may be more victims who live in Tracy. Anybody with information related to this case or who believes they may have been a victim after conducting transactions with the business are encouraged to contact Detective Camillo Swiger at (209) 831-6448.

The Tracy Police Department is aware of social media activity related to West High School regarding a potential threat. There was a graffiti incident on Friday which mentioned violence that is still under investigation by the School Resource Officer. This type of graffiti is not uncommon and was evaluated on Friday. Out of an abundance of caution, school staff and police implemented increased safety measures at the school. We also continued with a pre-planned community outreach event at West High that was attended by several police officers as well as Chief Esquivel.

A rumor began Friday afternoon on campus that appeared to be based in that same graffiti incident; this rumor was dispelled. However, it appears over the weekend this same rumor began circulating on social media platforms and we were contacted by a student from West High School, which we are very grateful for.

This gave us an opportunity to evaluate the postings and the potential source. We have been working with West High and Tracy Unified staff over the weekend to develop a plan which hopefully helps alleviate some of the stress and tension these incidents cause students, parents, and the staff as well.

We take these issues very seriously and we understand the emotional toll they take on our community. Since Florida, these types of threats/rumors have been a reoccurring issue for many communities across the United States. We do and will continue to work hard to provide a safe environment in and around the schools in our community.

We will have extra officers at West High School as well as other schools in Tracy. TUSD will also have additional staff assigned. If you see officers near a school, please do not be overly alarmed by that sight. It is our hope that by seeing a stronger police presence; we will help our students and community regain a feeling of safety that has been unfairly taken from them due to recent National events.
