Last week, several of our officers attended the service to honor Douglas County Deputy, Zack Parrish, who was killed in the line of duty on New Years Eve. When they returned to their patrol cars, they found that someone had placed roses on the dashboards of all the marked police cars.

Losing one of our fellow officers is a very sombering time for all of us that work in law enforcement. This thoughtful gesture by one of our citizens was very much appreciated.

Update: Bruce Randolph Jr. found – reunited with family

The police department wants to thank the media and public for their help locating Mr. Randolph. We received tips he was at a bus stop on 120th Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. Additional information was developed that he made it to Boulder and ultimately purchased an RTD ticket back to the metro area. Mr. Randolph was found by Broomfield police officers at the RTD park-n-ride near the 1st Bank Center at about 11:40 p.m.

Mr. Randolph was in good condition, just trying to find his way home. He has been reunited with family. In our attempt to locate Mr. Randolph police deployed multiple officers using a myriad of resources. We completed a door to door check at the hotel as well as canvassed the surrounding area and businesses. A police K9 was deployed and thermal imaging devices were used to search open areas.

Public and private transportation programs, such as: RTD, Uber, Lyft, and taxi services were contacted to alert those partners and to determine if Mr. Randolph attempted to utilize their services.

Ultimately tips received from the public helped police begin tracing his steps and getting him safely back with his family. This demonstrates the important role our public shares in community safety and security.

Date – January 12, 2018

The Westminster Police Department needs the media and public’s help to locate a missing 90-year old male, Bruce Randolph Jr. He was staying with family at the Extended Stay Hotel on 120th Avenue near Pecos Street. Mr. Randolph was last seen on surveillance video at 12:30 p.m. Guests of the hotel indicated he may have been looking for a ride to Boulder.

Police are unsure if Mr. Randolph walked away from the hotel or was able to find a ride. He was last seen wearing:

Clothing:
Yellow jacket with gray shoulders
Dark blue sweats
Gym shoes
Straw hat

Physical description:
6’ 00” (walks hunched over)
190 pounds
Full head of silver hear

Family describes Mr. Randolph as very outspoken and friendly. He often makes friends with strangers and could wonder off with transient or homeless people. He does not require medications, but police are concerned with the low overnight temperatures and his lack of appropriate cold weather clothing.

Bruce Randolph Jr
