Between January 11th and January 13th residential burglaries occurred in the San Marino, Arium Resort, Lakes at Pembroke, and Coconut Reef communities (a total of 4 victims). All of these burglaries involved an unknown suspect(s) making entry into the home by smashing or prying open a sliding glass door located to the rear of the residence. It is unknown if it is the same individual committing these crimes, but we are asking residents to be mindful of any suspicious persons or vehicles in their neighborhood. Please let us know of any suspicious incidents by calling 911. (Case #s 2018-002726, 002831, 002821, 002903)

As a preventative measure to avoid becoming a victim of a residential burglary, please keep all blinds and/or curtains closed while you are not at home. If thieves can’t see what is inside of your home they will be less likely to take the chance and break in.

In the late hours of Tuesday, January 9th, and into the early hours of Wednesday, January 10th, unknown suspects broke into several vehicles located in the area of the Lakes at Pembroke and San Tropez communities (9840 Sheridan Street & 300 NW 78 Terrace). In all instances the vehicles had their door locks damaged and their airbags removed. We are asking for anyone with information regarding these crimes to please contact us via 954-764-HELP or 954-431-2200. (Case #s 2018-00208, 002217, 002212, 002222, 002237)

Thank you to our residents who continue to report suspicious activity to us via 911 or our non-emergency 954-764-HELP line, and thank you to our officers for another week of excellent and pro-active police work.
