Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention

Over the previous five weeks we have taken reports of seven stolen vehicles in a variety of locations around Bloomington. Historically we average about 5.5 stolen vehicle reports a month. Help us bring this number down by taking some simple steps to reduce the likelihood of your car being stolen.

Do not leave your keys, even a spare, inside your vehicle. (9 of 10 cars stolen have the keys left in the vehicle)

Keep your vehicle locked at all times, even while driving.

Do not leave your vehicle running and unattended.

If you use a garage, lock the door leading to your garage.
