NOTABLE ARRESTS – WANTED ON WARRANTS

Springfield, Illinois – On April 12 and 13, members of the Springfield Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division along with the United States Marshals Service (USMS) attempted to execute 29 arrest warrants. These warrants were obtained with the assistance of the Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s Office. The warrants were mostly for the charge of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, but also included were charges for possession of a weapon by a felon, delivery of cannabis (over 30g), methamphetamine delivery, manufacture/delivery of a look-a-like substance, and possession of a weapon by a street gang member.

The following individuals were located and arrested by Springfield Police and/or USMS personnel:

1. Terry Brown, age 32, 1700 block of Moffat, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
2. Paris Cook, age 33, 3100 block of Butler, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
3. Jennifer L. Gentry, age 39, 1700 block of Schrader, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
4. Robert Giles, age 21, 1800 block of South, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
5. Lavelle Hadley, age 28, 100 block of W. Lawrence, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
6. Dominick Hudson, age 23, 1000 block of N. 14th, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
7. Lonnie Hughes III, age 19, 2300 block of Cherry Hills, delivery of cannabis (over 30g)
8. Lonnie Hughes Jr., age 42, 3300 block of Ridgewood, delivery of cannabis (over 30g)
9. Thomas Lornitis, age 51, 1300 block of N. 8th, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
10. Melvin Lyles, age 37, 1600 block of E. Glenn, methamphetamine delivery
11. Alton R. McClain, age 40, 2600 block of Beech, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
12. Juan Salas, age 30, 2000 block of E. Cook, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
13. Mark Vaughn, age 46, 1700 block of E. Lawrence, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
14. Dante J. Womack, age 22, 500 block of S. State, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
15. Donald Womack, age 24, 1000 block of W. Elliott, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
16. Cory Miller, age 21, 2500 block of Poplar, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance
17. Shanice Graves, age 25, 1000 block of Marco Lane, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance

Two arrests were made on felony warrants including aggravated fleeing and eluding and possession of a controlled substance and for possession of a controlled substance. These were not part of the original 29 warrants obtained by the Springfield Police.

Four additional arrests were made on probable cause for aggravated battery to a peace officer and possession of a controlled substance, concealing or aiding a fugitive and for resisting a peace officer.

A total of 23 arrests were made, 21 of which were for felonies.
