Yesterday, City of Lawrence Indiana Mayor Collier, City of Lawrence Fire Department Chief Batalis, Chief Hofmann, and Lawrence 911 Center Director LiAnn Wolfe, recognized Senior Supervisor Mary Parish as the 2017 Telecommunicator of the Year!

Throughout Mary’s career, her years of service have helped form the very foundation of the 911 Center in Lawrence.
Her experience and knowledge over the past 3 decades are an irreplaceable asset to the 911 Center. Mary’s soothing voice on the radio, calm demeanor under pressure, and refined approach to supervising are invaluable traits to everyone who has worked with Mary, especially as a mentor to the entire 911 Center staff.

During Mary’s 28 years of dedicated service she has held the positions of telecommunicator, 911 Center Director, and shift supervisor. Mary has also served as our Indiana Data and Communications System (IDACS) Coordinator, which is a massive undertaking. She has spent countless hours ensuring our 911 Center remains in compliance with Federal and State communications systems regulations and standards.

She was nominated by her peers to receive the Telecommunicator of the Year award. Please join us in recognizing and thanking Mary for her career of service to the citizens and public safety officials in Lawrence!

311 service has been implemented as a non-emergency contact line throughout Marion County, including here in Lawrence! This service is only available for cell phones, but is much easier to remember than dialing 317-545-7575 for non-emergency contact to our Communications Center.

Thank you to our friends and colleagues Marion County Sheriff’s Office (IN) for including us in this countywide service!
