What could make a day any better than being chosen as a recipient of a Random Act of Kindness by these great folks from the The Arc of East Central Iowa?

Today is World Down Syndrome Day – a day that helps raise awareness of what Down syndrome is, what it means to have Down syndrome, and how people with Down syndrome play a vital role in our lives and our community.

Thank you for the cookies and, more importantly, for your thoughtfulness!

Police officers enjoyed a visit by the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders today. This fine group of young men brought cookies and words of wisdom to help officers in their epic battle this coming weekend with Cedar Rapids Fire Department firefighters at the Guns and Hoses Night at the Stable. Officers even conversed with Coach Carlson and the RoughRiders Captains in the Police Mobile Command Unit (the firefighters can only wonder what they talked about in preparation for this weekend’s hockey faceoff).

Thank you to all the players and the Cedar Rapids Roughriders Booster Club for their community involvement in Cedar Rapids!
