Eastern District Handgun Arrest

On April 23, 2018, Eastern District Action Team officers were conducting an investigation in the 1000 block of North Kenwood Avenue.

This investigation led to the arrest of 32 year-old Tayvon Miller of the 2700 block of Beryl Avenue.

Seized from Miller was a loaded handgun and ammunition.

Tayvon Miller, who is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to multiple convictions, was transported to Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with various handgun violations.

Northwest District Shooting Investigation

On April 23, 2018 at approximately 10:28 p.m., Northwest District patrol officers responded to the 4200 block of Fairfax Road for a report of a shooting.

Once at the location, officers located a 60 year-old male, conscious and breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was retrieving items from his vehicle after returning from church when he was shot by an unidentified suspect.

Southern District Shooting Investigation

On April 24, 2018 at approximately 4:20 a.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to the 1200 block of Carroll Street in the rear alley for a report of a shooting.

Once at the location officers located a 45 year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Northern District Gun Arrest

On April 22, 2018, Northern District Action Team Officers were conducting an investigation in the unit block of 23rd Street.

This Investigation led to the arrest of 24 year-old Montray McCray of the 900 block of Presswood Road.

Officers recovered a loaded revolver from McCray.

Montray McCray was transported to Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with handgun violations.
