Hattiesburg Police need the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in a forgery-uttering case.

The black male in the photo wrote a fraudulent check at a business in the 600 block of Campbell Loop Drive for a drink machine.

He is described as a black male, roughly 6’2, 185 lbs, and could be in his mid to late 20s according to witnesses.

DEWEY STREET HOMICIDE ARREST: On Thursday, April 19, Hattiesburg Police charged Andrew Presley with capital murder in the homicide investigation of 63-year-old Deborah McGee.

Presley, 53, was arrested for hindering prosecution on Thursday, April 12, as a part of the ongoing investigation.

Presley, who is the father of McGee’s niece’s child, was brought back to the Hattiesburg Police Department Thursday morning and questioned in reference to evidence in the case.

Jordan Stewart, 53, of Hattiesburg, has also been arrested and charged with hindering prosecution in the investigation.

AUTO BURGLARY STING NETS 4: On Thursday, April 19, Hattiesburg Police charged three men and a juvenile in an overnight auto burglary sting operation.

Lee Young, 21 of Lexington, MS- was charged with two counts of auto burglary and possession of a stolen weapon.

Denario Caldwell, 20, of Jackson, MS- was charged with two counts of auto burglary.

Walter Williams, 18, of Jackson was charged with two counts of auto burglary.

A 16-year-old black male juvenile from Jackson was also charged with two counts of auto burglary.

The men were taken into custody at the intersection of North 37th Avenue and Montague Blvd. around 3:45 a.m. Thursday.

The vehicle they were in was seized and taken to the Hattiesburg Police impound lot to be searched and processed in the investigation.

Multiple items ranging from stolen weapons to electronics were recovered in the vehicle.

Investigators believe this will clear more than a dozen auto burglary cases in the past week, as well as possibly more as the investigation goes on.

The men are booked in the Forrest County Jail, and additional charges will be added.
