MPD would like to make you aware that we are once again getting a high number of calls from people reporting another scam attempt. it seems our citizens are receiving phone calls from a person representing some authority, who tells our complainant that they have a warrant out for their arrest. The caller goes on to say in order to avoid arrest, our complainant must call a specific phone number and arrange payment. One citizen who called in with information said it was a person claiming to be with the IRS, and gave him #(716) 513-8640 to call. He said realised it was a scam and when he called the number it sounded like a room full of people answering phones in the background.
Please remember, neither the IRS or law enforcement will call you and threaten you with arrest in lieu of making a payment for an outstanding warrant. The more you know, the safer you are.

Construction continues on Russell Street – Broadway to Dakota throughout the week of April 23 – 27. Work will begin on the east side of Russell Street. This transition will require traffic to be shifted to the west side of Russell. Drivers are encouraged to be alert and pay attention to posted signage.

For Milwaukee Trail users, detours for the trail system are now in effect. Please see the simplified detour map below. It is also available on the project webpage: http://www.mdt.mt.gov/pubinvolve/russell/docs/Milwaukee-Trail-Detour-Map.pdf. This map will also be added to points along the trail system to best direct users.

Traveling in restricted construction zones is prohibited. The public is reminded to follow all posted detour signage. As a reminder, all can use Mountain Line for safe travel through the construction area. Both Mountain Line and UDASH have consolidated bus stops during construction. Mountain Line has moved stops to Wyoming Street and First Street. Please visit UDASH’s detour page for additional information: http://udash.org/detours.

Traveling in restricted construction zones is a significant safety hazard. Fines double when workers are present.

As construction season is underway, we are hosting a public Q&A session every Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army in Missoula. This is an informal opportunity to stop by to ask questions about any of the projects in the Missoula urban-area, including Van Buren, Russell or ADA improvements.

More information is available on the project webpage: http://www.mdt.mt.gov/pubinvolve/russell/. Texting updates are also available. To register text “RUSSELL” to 41411.
