**NEWS ALERT**
Merchants Complaints Lead to Arrest of Two and Recovery of a Handgun
For Immediate Release: January 16, 2018

On January 15, 2018, complaints from merchants regarding drug activity led to the arrest of two males and the recovery of a handgun.

Officers Eric Evans and Kevin Perez conducted surveillance in the 1800 block of Atlantic Avenue after reported complaints from business merchants regarding the possession and distribution of narcotics in the area.

At 4:42 pm, the officers observed two males engage in a narcotic transaction in the entranceway of a convenience store on the block. At the completion of the transaction, the two males went their separate ways.

The officers first stopped Alcides Montalvo who was found in possession of a bag of marijuana. Montalvo was taken in custody. They located the other male involved in the transaction, Jerick Henry, in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue. Henry was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a loaded handgun with a defaced serial number, marijuana, and hydrocodone.

ARRESTED: Jerick Henry, a 24 year old male from Absecon, NJ.

CHARGES: Two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), two counts of possession with the intent to distribute CDS, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, possession of a defaced firearm, certain person not to possess a weapon, and hindering apprehension.

Henry was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

ARRESTED: Alcides Montalvo Jr., a 41 year old male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Possession of CDS.

Montalvo was released on a summons with a future court date.

Male Arrested with Assault Rifle
For Immediate Release: January 12, 2018

On January 10, 2018, a motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of the driver and the recovery of an assault rifle.

At 11:58 am, Sergeant Andrew Leonard and Detective Darrin Lorady conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 1900 block of Atlantic Avenue. An investigation led to a search warrant for the vehicle. Detectives later located a loaded AR-15 rifle and materials used to package and distribute narcotics. Bostic was arrested without incident.

ARRESTED: Robert Bostic, a 44 year old male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

Bostic was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

**NEWS ALERT**

Three Arrested, Real and Fake Handguns Recovered
For Immediate Release: January 11, 2018

On January 10, 2018, three individuals were arrested and a real and replica handgun recovered during an investigation.

At 11:09 pm, Detective Peter Calabrese attempted to speak with a group of individuals at Pennsylvania and Arctic Avenues in reference to an ongoing robbery investigation. As Detective Calabrese approached, one of the individuals, a 17 year old male from Atlantic City, began to immediately walk away and then began to run away. Detective Calabrese chased the male into a parking lot in the 1000 block of Arctic Avenue where Officer George Mancuso was able to apprehend the male. While attempting to place him in custody, a person from the group, Shamera Marreo, attempted to interfere in the arrest by grabbing and trying to pull Detective Calabrese away. The male and Marrero were taken into custody without further incident.

While searching the male incident to arrest, Officer Mancuso recovered a loaded handgun that had been reported stolen from Galloway in the male’s pants.

A third individual from the group, Kaleef Ardis, was stopped by Officer Thomas Gilardi as he attempted to enter an apartment complex. Ardis was arrested after being found in possession of a replica handgun and marijuana.

Marrero and Ardis also had active warrants for their arrest.

ARRESTED: A 17 year old male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, and receiving stolen property.

The male was remanded to Haroborfields Detention Facility.

ARRESTED: Shamera Marrero, an 18 year old female from Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, and contempt of court.

ARRESTED: Kaleef Ardis, a 19 year old male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Unlawful possession of an imitation firearm, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and contempt of court.

Marrero and Ardis were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
