One of the many duties of the Youth Services Division is to educate the youth of Clifton as to the profound affect that bullying has on fellow students. Yesterday, Juvenile Detective Jamie Velasquez, along with fellow detectives from the Youth Services Division, had the opportunity to teach an anti-bullying class at St. Andrew’s School. This class was part of an overall campaign and partnership between the Clifton Police Department, the Diocese of Paterson, and the Clifton Board of Education, to bring this course to each and every elementary school within the City of Clifton.

Education on the topic of bullying, both at school and at home, are so important in contributing to the reduction, and hopefully, the elimination of these types of incidents. It is important for everyone to know that bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.

A special thank you to all of the school principals for accommodating the police department and assisting us with this program!
