Just a friendly reminder: It is illegal to place chairs, cones, trash cans or other miscellaneous objects on a public street in an attempt to “save” a parking space. The Department of Public Works will be removing any such objects starting tomorrow January 10th. Those in violation may also receive a court summons. Thank you for your cooperation. 👍

This handsome fella at today’s OEM meeting is Lieutenant Taylor, commander of the KPD Traffic Bureau.

If Lieutenant Taylor has to put on his reading glasses you KNOW there’s some serious traffic planning in the works.

Don’t become a victim of Lieutenant Taylor’s reading glasses. Remember to move your car off the primary snow emergency streets by 6am Friday morning.

The Department of Public Works will be performing curb-to-curb snow removal beginning tomorrow, Friday, January 5, 2018, on the following primary snow emergency streets:

Kearny Avenue – entire length;
Belgrove Drive – entire length;
Midland Avenue – between Belgrove Dr. & Schuyler Ave.;
Afton Street – south side between Belgrove Dr. & Passaic Ave.;
Davis Avenue – between Midland Ave. & Dukes St.;
Elm Street – between Belleville Tpk. & Midland Ave.;
Bergen Avenue – between Passaic Ave. & Harrison Ave.
Forest Street – between Garafola Pl. & Midland Ave. (near Depot Park)

All vehicles must be removed from the above-named primary snow emergency streets by 6:00 am on Friday, January 5th. Vehicles not removed at that time may be impounded.

Regular snow plowing and road salting will continue through this afternoon and tonight.

Shoveling snow into the street hampers DPW plow operations.Please be reminded that town ordinances prohibit the shoveling of snow into the streets or onto sidewalks. While we respect the work that goes into shoveling out a parking space, the saving of public parking spaces by placing items into the street is likewise prohibited and can result in impoundment of those items.

Thank you for your cooperation and anticipated kindness toward your neighbors.
