What happens when the reigning Wilson PD Patrol Team of the Year is made aware of a five year old who LOVES police and is having a police themed birthday party today? Our David Team patrol unit shows up to the party with lights and sirens and makes sure it is the best police birthday party EVER!

Today, some of our officers celebrated with Nathan Wilson as he turned five years old. Nathan and his friends got to check out police vehicles, see a K9 demonstration, wear SWAT vests and even got sworn in with Wilson PD Jr. Police Officer sticker badges!

Our officers counted this as a blessing to be a part of such a joy and commented that this event likely meant just as much to the officers as it did to Nathan.

Happy Birthday Nathan!!!!

Please join us in recognizing three of our Wilson Police Officers who are doing an incredible job. These three individuals have stood out and have been placed in new positions within our agency to capitalize on their talents.

Sgt. Chelsea Sanders has been named supervisor over the Vice/Narcotics Division and became the first ever female to hold this post in our agency’s history.

Sgt. William Hitchcock has been promoted to Sergeant from Senior Police Officer and became the other half of the leadership team for our Adam Team patrol unit.

Police Officer II Sacejewia White has been designated as our Hiring/Recruiting Coordinator in addition to her pre-existing duties as our Grant Coordinator. Officer White also played an important role in our most recent CALEA Accreditation process.

We are proud to have an agency full of talented individuals who make an impact in our community on a constant basis. Congratulations to these three on their recent transfers and promotions!

The first edition of “Chief’s Corner” for 2018 will feature two huge community events that helped us close out 2017 in Wilson in a big way!

Also, if you didn’t catch the December 23rd edition of “Chief’s Corner” when it was printed, here is your chance to take a look at some of the things your police department did during the Christmas season. Happy New Year!

The Wilson Police Department would like to alert our citizens that we have experienced three car thefts of vehicles that were running and left unattended. The locations of these thefts were at 2824 US 301 which is the Haroon Food Mart, 6406 Ward Blvd which is A & J Food Mart, and from a residence in the 3000 block of Kavanaugh Road. Often times during cold weather this becomes a crime of opportunity. Vehicles are started and left unattended to warm up. We are asking you to lock your vehicles or not leave them unattended after they are started. If anyone has any information on these crimes please call the Wilson Police Department at 252-399-2323 or Crime stoppers at 252-243-2255.
