On December 18, 2017, the Mansfield Division of Police celebrated the graduation of 2 new K-9’s and welcomed them to the department. The K-9 officers conducted a brief public demonstration at the Mansfield K-9 Training Center. Those that attended the event were able to observe K-9 “Ferro” with his handler, Officer Joshua Frech, and K-9 “Dani” with his handler, Officer Zachary Miller. Mansfield Division of Police Sergeant Sara Mosier-Napier conducted the K-9 training and stated that she is very proud of the officer’s hard work to get their K-9 partners ready for road duty. Chief Kenneth Coontz would like to thank the community for its continued support and donations for the K-9 program.

Subject: Missing / Runaway Juvenile

As part of our ongoing search, the Mansfield Division of Police is asking for the public’s help to locate Allison Sowders. She may be in the area of 300 Park Ave West. Allison was last seen in the 100 block of Grover Avenue in Mansfield, Ohio.

Allison is 14 years old, 5’6” tall and 120 pounds, white female with blonde hair and brown eyes. Clothing description is unknown.

MPD Officers are out today helping to deliver Thanksgiving turkeys to families in need throughout the community. 1-888-OHIOCOMP donated 200 turkeys to the City of Mansfield that will be given out to families in need to celebrate Thanksgiving next week.

Subject: Robberies – Suspect Arrested

The Mansfield Division of Police announces an arrest in relation to the previous robberies of The Recovery Room located at 181 Sturges Avenue and the Lexington Avenue Drive Thru at 261 Lexington Avenue on November 12, 2017. Loney Ray Murphy (DOB: 07/09/1973) was arrested on two warrants for “Aggravated Robbery” out of this department.

The Mansfield Division of Police would like to thank those citizens who provided tips throughout this investigation which assisted in the identification and apprehension of this suspect.
