– Parma Police have arrested a man in connection to the December 10th carjacking that occurred in the parking lot of the Midtown Towers apartment complex located at 5556 Broadview Road in Parma:

Kevin Darnell Green Jr., age 18, lists an address in the 10000 block of Union Avenue in Cleveland. Green was charged with one count of Aggravated Robbery, a felony of the first degree. Additional charges will be considered by a Cuyahoga County Grand Jury.

On December 10, 2017 at 8:24pm, Parma Police officers responded to the area of Broadview Road and Tuxedo Ave after receiving a report that a 31 year-old Parma man was chasing two men who carjacked him several minutes earlier. When police located the victim, he told officers that when he got out of his truck in the apartment complex parking lot, he was tackled to the ground by a male, later identified as Green. The victim said he was then pistol whipped on the back of his head by another male. Both Green and the other male got into the victim’s vehicle and drove off. The victim yelled for help and was able to make contact with another person who had the victim get into his car so they could attempt to follow the victim’s stolen car.

This investigation is ongoing as detectives continue to follow up on additional leads and anticipate making additional arrests in this case.

The Parma Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying and locating two black males who carjacked a 31 year-old Parma man at gunpoint and took his car. On December 10, 2017 at 8:24pm, Parma Police officers responded to the area of Broadview Road and Tuxedo Ave for a report of a carjacking. The incident occurred minutes earlier in the parking lot of Midtown Towers (5556 Broadview Road) and the victim was reportedly chasing after the suspects in another person’s car but lost sight of them in the area.

When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim who told them that minutes earlier he was in the parking lot located in the northeast corner of 5556 Broadview Road. The victim told police that as he got out of his car, two black males approached him. One of the black males came up behind him and tackled him to the ground. A second black male then brandished a black colored pistol and then pistol whipped him with it on the back of his head. Both male suspects got into the victim’s car and drove off. The victim yelled for help and was able to make contact with another person who had the victim get into his car so they could attempt to follow the victim’s stolen car.

Both suspects were said to be in their 20’s, and were wearing hoodies. The victim believes that there were two additional male suspects who were involved, but no description of them was available. Attached are photos captured from a surveillance camera that appear to show the two suspects. There was another carjacking at Midtown Towers on November 24th with a female victim. It is unknown if the two incidents are related at this time. Anyone with information relative to this incident and/or the identity of the suspects responsible for this crime is asked to call the Parma Police Department Crime Tip Line at 440-887-7340.
