Good Morning! In the next two days, numerous traffic safety messages will be posted near intersections or next to roadways with documented issues. These messages include signs about speed, not running red lights, DUII (Alcohol/Drugs), texting/phone use while driving and tailgating. The messages come from crash data obtained in 2017 that occurred in Albany. A traffic safety sign will be posted in an area or intersection where the highest number of crashes occurred and the sign will relate to the number one cause of the crashes in that area. These are simply messages to remind the public to obey traffic laws to minimize traffic crashes. These are meant to be a visual reminder between the traffic safety blitzes the Albany Police Department participates in around the New Year, Spring and Summer holidays. The attached photographs are what the signs look like. Drive safe!

This December, we were visited by some guardian angels, who donated a large sum of money with instruction that we use the money to help people have a happy holiday season. Once we started giving, we found that the generosity was contagious, and we were able to help brighten the holiday for multiple families. Many thanks to our donors for making this happen, contributions from our Staff and Officers, and thank you to our community for the continued support.

We hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday season. We are looking forward to a GREAT 2018!
