Providence Place Mall Shooting: This evening at approximately 4:45 p.m. Providence Police responded to Providence Place Mall for a report of a shooting. The mall was immediately put on lockdown and has since been evacuated. The shooting victim, a 19-year-old male, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. This was not an active shooter situation and the victim appears to have been targeted. The investigation into this incident continues to be ongoing and police are searching for the subject(s) responsible. We will update further if more information becomes available.
