radKIDS
Facilitated by the Friendswood Police Department

radKIDS is a Violence Prevention Program designed for children between the age of 5 and 12 years of age that teaches them how to defensively resist aggression. Over the course of this 10 hour program the child will be taught:
• radKIDS® Revolutionary Bullying Prevention Program that is WORKING today: “Taught Through the Eyes of a Child”
• Preventing/Stopping Predator Tricks including Physical Resistance Strategies against Abduction
• Internet Safety
• Personal Touch and Personal Space Safety (Good, Bad, Uncomfortable/Unwanted Touch) Featuring “Sam’s Secret”
• Home, School, Out & About Safety (Parks, Fairs, Playgrounds, Beaches, Stores, Malls) all Through the Eyes of the Child

The radKIDS curriculum is a fun, activity-based program including lectures, safety drills, physical skills to resist or stop violence or harm, and dynamic simulation.

Because a child’s ability to learn differs greatly between the ages of 5 and 12, the course separates children into age groups: (5-7) & (8-12).

The Friendswood Police Department is offering a radKIDS class for the age group of 8-12 years old, at United Methodist Church – 110 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood TX.
Class Times/Dates are:
o July 31st 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm
o August 1nd 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm
o August 2nd 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm
o August 3rd 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm
**********Must attend all (4) Days*************

The Friendswood Police Department believes strongly in the parents’ or guardians’ involvement in such an important message to their child. It’s our belief that education continues outside the classroom and for that reason we REQUIRE a parent or guardian to attend the training with their child. Parents and guardians will play an active role in some training events and are encouraged to reinforce outside the classroom the messages and tactics their children learn.

The Friendswood Police Department requires a $25.00 fee for the class, which pays for course activity books and upkeep on supplies to operate the radKIDS course.

To reserve a training spot email Officer K. Crouch at (kcrouch@friendswood.com ). Include the following in the email.
o The attending parent/guardian name
o Child’s name
o Child’s age
o Email address you wish to be contacted at
o A phone number at which you can be contacted

*Limited space available class will be full at 20 students, after which a waiting list will be formed.*
