We are so grateful for our Plano Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association volunteers.

In 2017, our volunteers recorded 17,659 hours of volunteer time to our community for the department. Considering the value of a volunteer hour is listed at $23.07/hour, their hours equate to a savings of $407,393.13 to the city. This clearly represents why they were selected as the 2017 Texas Alumni Association of the Year. We appreciate each and every one of them for dedicating their own time to help keep our community safe. #Honored #loveplano

We posted this important safety minute video earlier this week and found out that some folks couldn’t get the audio to play. Thank you for your feedback and we worked with our partners at Plano Television and believe we have the problem fixed. Enjoy the video and let us know if the problem continues.

Our 2018 New Years resolution is to work harder to give you the tools to help keep you safe. Although no residence is intruder proof, there are ways to make it more difficult for an unwanted person to enter. Here is a tip from Crime Prevention Officer Christopher Bianez to help you “harden the target” of your home. It’s amazing how something so simple and inexpensive can increase your safety and security. We hope you enjoy and look for more “safety minute” videos throughout the year. #HardenTheTarget #CrimePrevention
