Today, Dallas County District Attorney Faith Johnson announced Dallas County grand jury indictments of WESLEY MATHEWS AND SINI MATHEWS, for their roles in the October 2017 death of SHERIN MATHEWS, 3. The Grand Jury returned an indictment for WESLEY MATHEWS on Captial Murder. SINI MATHEWS was also indicted today on Abandoning/Endangering a Child. In a joint press conference after the announcement, Chief Spivey thanked the Dallas County District Attorney, the detectives and members of the Richardson Police Department for their hard work on this case that has resulted in today’s indictment. The Chief went on to say that many agencies including the FBI and volunteer search organizations were helpful as well, bringing us closer to justice for Sherin Mathews.

A store clerk is being treated at the hospital after he was shot while working at the 7-11 store located at 1602 N. Plano Rd. Detectives are investigating an aggravated assault / possible robbery attempt, that happened at 12:38am on 01/11/18 (Thursday). Store surveillance video shows the suspect entered the store and approach the clerk that was stocking store shelves. Two shots were fired from a handgun, striking the clerk, then the suspect ran from store. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, black hoodie, gloves, red stocking cap, white scarf or bandana covering his face and white athletic shoes. No vehicle was seen and nothing was taken from the store. If anyone has information about this incident, please contact the Richardson Police Department at 972-744-4800. #caughtoncamera
