Here’s an update on our progress with “Car in Gear, Brain in Gear” – The graph may be a little confusing, but the main point is we want the number in the BLUE BOX to get down to 28.8. When it does we’ll have achieved our goal of 1500 crashes annually. https://t.co/blFXuD6Qe0

Cell phones and alcohol… Which is worse while driving?

Researchers from the University of Utah ran an experiment to answer this question. Drivers were put through a series of tests on a simulator while engaged in a conversation on the phone using a hands free device. The results were not encouraging.

Drivers talking on the phone performed much worse than those who were not. In fact, they did just as poorly as drivers who ran the tests while at a 0.08 blood alcohol content (legally intoxicated in WI).

Many new phones have a feature that will disable calls and texts while driving. Make sure to do your part, and let your friends and family know you’ll return their calls or texts after you’ve safely arrived at your destination.
